Prom Night Reflections

Last night was prom night… and I swear these kids grow up faster than my heart can keep up with.

There’s something about watching them walk out the door — dressed up, confident, laughing with their friends — that hits you in a place you didn’t expect. You spend years doing the everyday things: the rides, the reminders, the late‑night talks, the “did you finish your homework,” the “don’t forget your jacket.” It all feels so routine… until suddenly it isn’t.

Then you’re standing there, looking at this young adult who used to fit in your arms, stepping into a moment they’ll remember forever.

Prom night isn’t just about dresses and tuxes. It’s about watching your child step into their own story. It’s about seeing pieces of who they’re becoming — not just who they’ve been.

But I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything. These are the nights that remind you that we’re raising humans who are becoming exactly who they’re meant to be. And as much as we want to freeze time, we also get to stand back and witness the beauty of them growing into themselves.

Prom night was magical — not just for them, but for me too.
